What to know in Mississauga
Permits and rebates in Mississauga
Mississauga licenses and registers second units, and the licence does not transfer when a home is sold, so a new owner re-applies. New plumbing and structural work needs a permit, which we handle for you.
The City’s Basement Flooding Prevention Rebate can help with a sump pump, a backwater valve and drain work, but since 2025 the work has to be pre-approved by the City before it starts, so the timing matters.
